HUNGER COMMITTEE Our Hunger Committee meets in the kitchen monthly on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month to prepare meals for soup kitchens and others in need in our community. Please consider joining them by donating your time, food, or funds to help in this ministry. To find out how you can help, please call Jocelyn D'Antonio at 766-3722. Thank You!
An Invitation
Who: All confirmed members
What: Bagels, coffee AND Christian Study on Global Povertyand The Millennium Development Goals
When: After the 9 am summer worship on July 11, 18, 25 and August 1 (lasting about 1 hour)
Why: The facts and figures on global poverty are numbing and incomprehensible. BUT, never before has the world had the resources it now possesses to greatly diminish these facts and figures. Our baptism calls us, Scripture compels us, and the needs of others demand that we respond. The Millennium Development Goals provide a holistic vision of how Christians and the world community can “give justice to the weak and the orphan; maintain the right of the lowly and destitute.” (Psalm 82:3)
Come, eat, learn, discuss, and THEN head to the beach!
Our facilitator will be Pastor Jeff. Bagels and coffee provided by the Hunger Committee.
Any questions, please speak with Pastor or call Jocelyn D’Antonio at 516-766-3722.
